Side by side? Not big enough? will four do? no? how about six?24/Jan/2008Seating for six and a 907kg towing capacity make the Ranger Crew a versatile beast. Add to that a 454kg tray capacity and you have quite a workhorse at your disposal.
Just about anything is possible in Ranger country,
and to prove this Polaris has come up with the
all-new, six-seater Ranger Crew in 2008.
With a list of innovations as long as your arm, you’d think Polaris would be hard-pressed to improve on an impressive Ranger line-up already boasting the versatility of the Ranger 2x4, the performance of the 4x4 EFI, the monster capabilities of the 6x6 EFI, the pure power of the XP (700 EFI) and, most recently, the side-by-side performance of the Ranger RZR. However, the innovators of the ATV and utility industry are not ones to rest on their laurels, and have created yet another machine unlike anything seen before on the market. Another industry first? You bet! Common sense would suggest that to increase the seating capacity to six, other legendary Ranger capabilities – such as leading towing and carrying capacities or the ultra smooth Polaris ride – would need to be compromised. Well, it’s fortunate the good folk at Polaris are not common-sense sort of people - not only have the capabilities not diminished, but the Ranger Crew tows more, carries more and rides smoother than ever before! To make sure no-one gets left behind, the Ranger Crew boasts two rows of three-across seating. And not only does the Crew haul more people, but the comfort for passengers is at an all-time high. Independent rear suspension (22.9cm travel), a whopping 27.9cm ground clearance and On-Demand All-Wheel Drive combine effectively to ensure Polaris delivers once again on its promise of the smoothest ride on the market. And while the Crew is hauling six passengers, it can also haul a phenomenal load with it. A 907kg towing capacity is industry leading, while the rear dumping cargo box boasts the massive capacity of 454kg. This is not to mention the massive under-seat storage that is available to ensure you can carry more with you than ever before. With power to burn, the Crew jets along with a 40hp, 700 Twin EFI engine that has a top speed of 71km/ph, while the On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system automatically senses when you need more traction and locks in the front wheels. To ensure minimal damage to the terrain, the Crew uses a turf-friendly, electronic locking rear differential. Among the other significant developments for 2008, the Ranger Crew comes complete with new dual-piston calliper front and rear disc brakes, providing 30 percent better braking than last year’s Ranger for sure stops on any terrain, whether empty or loaded. As with all Ranger models, the Crew is compatible with the Polaris-exclusive Lock & Ride cargo system, making sure you can carry everything you need for a hard day’s work. |
