OUTLAW TRI-STATE ATV MX SERIES - POLARIS REPORT4/Aug/2008Polaris Racing Team has continued its stellar inaugural season by taking out the Outlaw Tri-State Series with a dominant display in the final round at Toolleen on the weekend. After success in the first two Tri-State rounds at Canberra and Mount Gambier, Polaris Racing Team entered the final round with a significant lead and was never headed on its way to the top two spots on the podium.Luke Beechey entered the final round one point behind teammate Aaron Ovens but won all three motos to take a 39 point series lead and the mantle as 2008 Outlaw Tri-State Series Champion. Beechey was seldom challenged as he steered his Polaris Outlaw MXR 450 to three consecutive wins, shooting straight to the lead in motos one and three and taking less than a circuit to claim the lead after missing the holeshot in the second moto. After a strong performance to finish runner up to Beechey in the first moto, Ovens was struck down by technical problems and a spectacular spill in the final two motos, but courageously managed to finish both races to secure sufficient points to hold onto second placing for the series. “It was a great win, and a fantastic achievement to take the title in our first professional season,” said Polaris National Sales Manger, Peter Harvey. “We were always confident that putting the best riders on the best bikes would deliver exceptional results and the Outlaw MXR 450’s have stood up to every challenge. “This win is further evidence that Polaris is a serious player on the track. I don’t know that a lot of people realize our company is actually 54 years old – when it comes to performance, we have the experience and the track record.” Polaris is also leading the Polaris-sponsored Victorian State 8 series after five rounds, with Aaron Ovens currently 30 points clear of Anthony Delios ahead of Round 6 at Blue Rock on 24th August. For a strictly limited time, riders can also pick up an Outlaw MXR 450, Outlaw 525 S (straight-axle) or Outlaw 525 IRS for only $9,995 – a saving of $3,000. PRO FINAL SERIES STANDINGS 1.
