NZ Champ to join hardiman kawasaki at quirindi17/Jun/2008Late last year Kelen Kawasaki in Penrith (NSW) joined forces with respected ATV aftermarket parts supplier, Hardiman ATV, to launch the Hardiman ATV Kawasaki Race Team for season 2008. Hardiman ATV Kawasaki Race Team Pro Riders, Paul Worth and Todd O’Leary have been competing this season on board Kawasaki KFX450R ATV’s. Those regular Team Hardiman Kawasaki incumbents will be joined this weekend by New Zealand Women’s ATV MX Champion Nina McVicar.Nina is flying in this weekend to join the Hardiman ATV Kawasaki Race Team for the first round of the NSW Hardiman Cup at Quirindi on June 22. Nina will compete on board a Hardiman ATV Kawasaki Race Team prepared KFX450R at the opening round of the Hardiman backed NSW Series.Heading to Quirindi will be special for the NZ resident and National Champion. Nina’s father, Malcolm McVicar, who passed away last year, was a former NZ ATV Grass Track Champion, resident of Quirindi and a regular ATV racer at the Quirindi track, located in western NSW. Speaking from NZ, Nina said, “I'm so excited to have the opportunity to come over and race the KFX450R with the Hardiman ATV Kawasaki Race Team at my father’s home track. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to meet all his friends and can’t wait to race.” Hardiman ATV Kawasaki Race Team rider, Paul Worth, is also excited about the first round. He says, “We’re really looking forward to this weekend. It’s great that Nina will be competing with the team on board Kawasaki. International Champions, like Nina, coming to Australia to race will really help lift the profile of ATV racing in this country and the whole team is extremely optimistic of finishing the series on the podium.” The first round is shaping up to be an extremely competitive one, with factory teams and privateers alike going head to head for top honours. The Hardiman ATV Kawasaki Race Team is confident of finishing the first round at Quirindi on the podium. The second round of the event takes them to Barleigh Ranch, Raymond Terrace on 13th July with the third and final round also being held at Barleigh Ranch on 31 August. |
